A Note from Kathyby Kathy Foster Hart Families and Friends, Today was a busy day for our Hart students. The UIL competition kicked off this afternoon, and I will be heading over to Puster to enjoy the fun shortly. Good luck to our kiddos that are competing. Our first grade friends honored mothers today with their annual Mother's Day Tea. Thank you to all of the moms, aunts, grandmothers and family friends who joined us for the celebration. Second grade students participated in the Caldecott celebration for reading a specific number of Caldecott books, and we wrapped up Camp Wanna Be a Reader in the Library! All I can say is whew! As we near the end of the school year, we are also planning for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year. Based on enrollment, we have a couple of changes to the sections in each grade level. Second grade will move from 5 to 4 sections and third grade will move from 4 to 5 sections. Attached you will find a list of staff and the grade level they will be teaching. If you want to provide any additional information for teacher request, please email Laurie Tayce @ laurie_tayce@lovejoyisd.net by Wednesday, May 15.

Parents are invited to come and enjoy the day with their child during field day! Please send your child with a change of clothes, sunscreen, a snack and a water bottle. Water activities will be a part of field day!
NEW! 4th and 5th Grade Parents - In your child's Thursday folder, you will find an envelope addressed to your child. In this envelope, there is an invitation to Intro to the Creek, the lunch menu for Intro to the Creek, and school supply order information. Please note that the school supplies can only be ordered on-line. For your convenience, we attached the contents of the envelope in this email. Counselor's Corner Lunch & Learn about Digital Citizenship May 14th, Puster Elementary Think Tank, 11:30-12:30 for parents of elementary school age children We're all overwhelmed with how to prepare our kids to be citizens of a future world we can't even imagine yet. Some advocates say the most important thing adults today can do for the next generation is to work in partnership with other parents and teachers to create a village of support when it comes to digital technology use. You will leave with a great deal of resources to help you make informed decisions.

A Note from Student Nutrition Beginning May 13th, the Student Nutrition Department will no longer permit "charging" on nutrition accounts with a negative balance.
Kids 1st Summer Camps Kids 1st Summer Camp runs from June 3rd through August 15th and is located at Lovejoy Elementary. The hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We will have 3 field trips and 2 on-site camps a week.
7th Annual Lovejoy Country Run
Please join us on Saturday, May 18th for the 1K Fun Run and/or 5K Race. There will be lots of food and fun! Registering now online or by mail (see attached brochure). Save money by registering early. For more information visit www.TheLovejoyCountryRun.org or www.LukesLocker.com. A donation will be made to the PTA of the school with the most students registered. The amount donated will be $5 per student from their campus.
