A Note from Kathy

by Kathy Foster
January 27, 2012

Hart Families and Friends,

I am so excited because tonight I am going to see our LHS production of The Music Man. We have four Hart students in the show and I heard that opening night was a huge success! Hats off to Bryce Fuller, Eliza Hyde, Cade Muizers and Landry Webb for all of their hard work in preparing for the production. Not only am I excited to see our kiddos perform, but I am bringing along a host of family members to join in the fun. Hopefully you and your family will be able to catch either tonight's or Saturday's performance.

More good news...Mr. James was the champion of the free-throw shooting competition at this week's Girl's Varsity Basketball Game. :) His win is a win for all of our students because we are going to receive coupons for a free food item from Chick-fil-a. Yippee!  A special thank you to Mr. James for representing Hart at the game!  I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Kathy :)

GET YOUR TICKETS NOW TO THE MUSICAL: “THE MUSIC MAN”
The LHS Fine Arts Department and a cast of over sixty Lovejoy students present the beloved musical, THE MUSIC MAN, with three performances on January 26, 27 and 28 at the Lovejoy High School Auditorium.
The year is 1912 and the story follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill, played by senior, Drew Shafranek, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. Helping Hill to pull off this enormous scheme, is his friend, Marcellus Washburn, who is played by junior, Alex Adkins. Hill’s plans to skip town with the cash are unexpectedly foiled when he falls for Marian the town librarian, played by senior, Tessa Haas. The show also features Michael King, Sam McCorcle, Bo Graham, and Garrett Northcutt as the iconic barbershop quartet. Included in the cast will be many elementary and middle school students from LISD portraying the children’s roles. The Music Man will be performed to expected sell-out crowds on Thursday, January 26; Friday, January 27; and Saturday, January 28 with all shows at 7 PM with doors opening at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and may be purchased at the LHS school store or online at www.Lovejoytheatre.org.
Thank you!
Bethany Green and Jessica Brewster
