| ¡Hola Amigos! I am so excited that our families in Lovejoy ISD continue to embrace the opportunity for their children to learn a second language and fortunately for me that language is Spanish! What a wonderful opportunity for our children to start as early as kindergarten in acquiring a second language. I have had the wonderful opportunity of meeting your beautiful children and have shared with them a little bit about my life. I was born in El Paso, Texas and my parents are from Mexico and moved to the United States when they first married. My parents only spoke Spanish so Spanish is my native language. I started to learn English at age five in kindergarten. Growing up I was usually the "translator" for my parents and I enjoyed learning and speaking both languages. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Early Childhood. While student teaching at a Pre-K Center I enjoyed learning about the dual language program that was offered to native and non-native Spanish speaking students to learn English and Spanish at the same time. I became very interested and decided to receive my Bilingual and ESL endorsement and have been an elementary bilingual teacher for the past eight years. My life has been very blessed with a beautiful family. I have been married for over 20 years and we have two amazing boys that make our lives a joy each and everyday! Our older son Cam is attending school in Houston and our youngest son Cade is in second grade. Please stop by our classroom (room #6) anytime and join us as we are acquiring the beautiful language of Spanish!
