Second Grade

Hello Hart Families! I am so excited to be teaching 2nd Grade at Hart again this year! This will be my 7th year in the district as well as my 7th year in 2nd Grade at Hart. I absolutely love this campus and this community and consider it a privilege to be a part of it.

I have lived in the Dallas area my whole life. I grew up in Plano and then Flower Mound graduating from Marcus High School. I got my degree from University of North Texas and taught 3rd Grade in Plano ISD for 2 years. My oldest son, Riley was born my second year of teaching, and I stayed home with him for 13 years during which I had 2 more children. We lived in McKinney for 15 years until my 3rd year of teaching in Lovejoy when we moved to Seis Lagos.

Riley is 20 and attends The University of Oklahoma where he is majoring in chemical engineering. He has a puppy Australian Shepherd named Frank. Colton is 17 (18 in October,) and will be a senior at Lovejoy this year. He is a baseball player and loves all things TCU. Olivia is 14 and is starting her freshman year at Lovejoy. She is a cheerleader and loves to sing. They bring me so much joy and are turning out to be pretty amazing people.

I find it hard to talk about myself, but I will try my best. My favorite thing in the world is being a mom, but other than that I love to decorate and design. I make graphics from quotes and song lyrics and love to create and repurpose home decor. I also love to sing and attend concerts. I love finding obscure, little-known artists which is a love I share with my son, Colton. I attend The Village Church in Plano where I have found an amazing community of women in a similar season of life to myself.

Community is a strong value of mine which spills over into my classroom. I place a lot of emphasis on building strong interpersonal relationships with an understanding of the importance of trust and respect. I believe that both positive and negative experiences can grow us in ways that help us to be a productive member of our communities and that our relationships with others are great teachers. I can't wait to begin my relationship with your child as well as your family. That's what it's all about!

Have a great year!
