2015 -2016 was my first year at Hart Elementary after a move from Memphis, Tennessee. I love what I do and look forward to working with children each day. I started my teaching career in 1981, which has provided an opportunity to teach or work with children in grade 2 - 12 in various subjects. My first 23 years were teaching grade 2 – 6 in the Lufkin/Nacogdoches area. The last eleven years were in Tennessee, with the last ten at Briarcrest Christian High School. There I worked with the Educational Support Services for grades 9 - 12.  Greg Hardy (NFL) and Michael Orr (NFL) were both graduates of Briarcrest. The Blindside was based on Michael Orr's story during his high school years there.

Currently, I live in Princeton, TX with my husband, Barry, a retired Memphis Police Officer. You might find him on some of the First 48 episodes based in Memphis. My daughter, Paige, is currently attending Stephen F. Austin, where she is working on her Doctorate of Education, after 7 years of teaching. My son, Austin, attends SFA working toward a degree in physics/engineering.

I graduated from SFA in 1981 with a BS in Elementary Education and K-12 Special Ed certification. I enjoy spending time outdoors with our two labs. Camping is a favorite as well.
