I joined Hart Elementary in 2015-2016 after a move from Memphis, Tennessee. I love what I do and look forward to working with children each day. I started my teaching career in 1981 in Lufkin, TX, and I'm currently the Lead Sped teacher.
During my teaching career, I had the opportunity to teach or work with children in grades 2 - 12 in various subjects. I spent my first 23 years as a General Education teacher. In 2004, I began using my Special Education certification as a resource teacher.
Currently, I live in Princeton, TX with my husband, Barry, a retired Memphis Police Officer. He currently works for the state as a Food Stamp Fraud Investigator.
My daughter, Paige, obtained her Doctorate of Education in May 2018 and is currently an Instructional Coach in Marble Falls. My son, Austin, graduated from SFASU in May 2018 with a physics/engineering degree. He married in July 2018 and currently lives in Lincoln, NE working as an Electrical Engineer while his wife obtains her masters from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
I graduated from SFA in 1981 with a BS in Elementary Education and K-12 Special Ed certification. I enjoy spending time outdoors with our two rescue labradors. Camping is a favorite as well as riding ATV and dirt bikes on the trails at our motorcycle lease in Nacogdoches.
