I am so excited to be the librarian at Hart Elementary. I have had a few other teaching gigs and leadership experiences before landing in my absolute favorite place in a school - THE LIBRARY! My former classrooms have been in Richardson, Plano, and Lovejoy.
I was fortunate enough to stay at home with my two boys for a decade, where catching critters and playing in the creek became our outdoor classroom, and our days spent reading and acting out books were the norm. Those boys are now in college! So this begins my 18th year of teaching.
Reading, writing, learning, and technology are true loves of mine, so I am thrilled to put many passions into this dream job.
While I am away from teaching, I love to spend time with my family, explore creative designs and artwork with many different kinds of medias, listen to music, explore new places, and camp in the great outdoors (don’t let that fool you into thinking I am that a hard-core backpacker or tent dweller - you will find me sleeping in a travel trailer.)
The love for learning, respect for others, creative expression and critical thinking are key elements in learning. Because students are involved in these experiences in the library, those positive phrases such as
Never Give Up - Be Brave - You Matter
Failure is the First Attempt In Learning
are mottos that are a core foundation for the students that enter the library.
Oh yea, that last name of mine, Hart.....not a coincidence, just fate. And believe it or not, my maiden name is......Diamond. True fact.
