Mayor Kuykendall visited with some of our Gifted and Talented students working in Ms. Nelson's class on jobs in the community to answer their questions after student wrote friendly letters inviting him to our school. Thank you for making time to talk with our students.
We are so grateful for our grandparents who attended our special Grandparents Day Lunch to celebrate them. A special thank you to Sign Gypsies in Allen for donating the welcome sign for outside and to out Hart PTO who partnered with us to make today special.

Kicking off Friday with special guests and Reading with the Leopards
Hart was filled learning as we saw Kindergarteners engaged in their book boxes as they are building their reading stamina. We also saw both Kindergarten and 2nd graders engaged in the writing process with their wonderings, responding to text, and personal narratives.
Hart teams are engaged in data digs this afternoon to support planning for small group instruction in both math and reading to meet students by standard by need, and talking vertically to align instruction.
Ms. Acosta and Ms. Flemmer are excited to be a part of the 5A UIL Lone Star Cup recognition reception.

Leopard Reminder: No School for Lovejoy students and campuses will be closed from August 30th - September 3rd for for an extended Labor day weekend. Lovejoy Staff have Teacher Planning on Friday, August 30th and Professional Development on Tuesday, September 3rd. We look forward to seeing our Leopards return on Wednesday, September 4th.
Ms. Hicks, MTSS, doing a Patterns of Wonder lesson with Kindergarten. The lesson encouraged students to write letters of the sounds they hear.
PE kicked off with some high engagement during Leopard Warm Up followed by a recap of what is looks like and sounds like to be a good teammate during competition before they started their activity for the day.

Dr. Blake Brandes, an award winning freestyle rapper and beat boxer, visited Hart Elementary today to share an important message. Having a growth mindset, believing in yourself and being kind to others allows you to overcome obstacles when challenges come our way. Thank you to the Hart PTO for sponsoring this program!

Mark your calendars for Hart Elementary's Meet the Teacher on August 6th. We will host our Kindergarten Families from 3:00-4:00 pm and our 1st-4th Families from 4:00-5:00 pm. We cannot wait to see you all soon!
We want to say thank you to our Hart families for a great year. We ended the year strong and today had many celebrations the last day of school including; Kindergarten Performance, Kindergarten Awards, Hart Beat, and Our 4th Grade Walk. Have a wonderful Summer.
